Intermap NEXTMap Web Services
Intermap's NEXTMap Web Services provide you online access to Intermap's
Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data
which includes Digital Terrain (DTM)
and Digital Surface (DSM) models.
There are several ways for you
to access the terrain data. These options include
buying the data for your own Area of Interest (AOI) or
buying a subscription.
Subscribers to Intermap Web Services can access the company’s 3D terrain information using their current
Web browsers,
through
desktop software
like ArcGIS, Global Mapper or SocetGXP, or via an application that leverages the
Intermap Web Services software developers kit (SDK).
NEXTMap Web Store
Intermap offers you a convenient way to buy terrain data or order the data
and web services subscription via its
NEXTMap Web Store.
See the available options for
Americas,
EMEA and
APAC.
Buy the Data
To buy and download terrain data of your custom Area of Interest (AOI) for offline access visit the
NEXTMap Web Store and upload a KML, KMZ, or zipped .SHP & .SHX file with of your AOI.
If the requested data isn't available online you can
place a Custom Purchase Request.
Subscribe to Data Access
There are currently three option to subscribe to data access in
NEXTMap Web Store.
NEXTMap Premium
is an excellent way to enjoy the new NEXTMap Web Services model. The monthly subscription requires an annual commitment
and is priced per user, per county in the United States.
With NEXTMap Enterprise
you can enjoy all the benefits of NEXTMap Premium, plus access to three high-value mapping layers. The monthly subscription
requires an annual commitment and is priced per user, per state in the United States. The low cost makes these subscriptions
affordable even under strict procurement limits.
If neither NEXTMap Premium nor NEXTMap Enterprise fit your needs try
NEXTMap Custom.
Accessing the Data and Services
OGiS Compliant Web Services
Intermap's NEXTMap Web Services provide open geospatial consortium-based (OGC) services including
Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS).
Web Map Service (WMS) provides a map image that can be displayed in a browser application or OGC-compliant software.

NEXTMap Native Web Services
Intermap subscriptions also provide access to native Web services which enable you to easily leverage 3D spatial information.
Elevation Service offers you an easy way to determine terrain elevation at a given location. Support for this service
is built-in into Global Mapper desktop software.

Intermap provides an SDK
which makes incorporating native services easy.
Intermap's online GIS tools are designed to help GIS professionals and non-GIS users perform simple analyses from any
web browser and make better terrain-based decisions without the need for any GIS software.
Terrain Analyst tools allow you to easily find locations or get the height, a profile along a line,
or viewshed of the terrain using only your web browser.

Available Data Layers
DEM - Digital Elevation Model
Our NEXTMap digital elevation models (DEMs) provide seamless,
wide-area, and current terrain data so you can perform more
efficient geospatial analyses. Our world-class enterprise workflow allows us to integrate elevation datasets from around
the globe to provide best-of-breed elevation models with a range of accuracies starting at 1 vertical meter LE90%
(Linear Error at the 90 percentile) in unobstructed terrain of low slopes.
Learn more about NEXTMap DEMs.
DSM - Digital Surface Model
A first-reflective-surface model that contains elevations of natural terrain features in addition to vegetation and
cultural features such as buildings. The key benefit of the surface model is that it provides heights of features
above the ground, enabling line-of-sight and viewshed analyses for industries such as telecommunications and forestry.
Learn more about NEXTMap DSM.
DTM - Digital Terrain Model
A bare-earth elevation model that contains heights of natural terrain features, such as barren ridge tops and river valleys.
Elevations of vegetation and cultural features, such as buildings and roads, are digitally removed.
The key benefit of the terrain model is that is provides a surface for contour generation for applications such as base,
geologic, and topographic mapping.

ORI - Orthorectified Radar Image
Our orthorectified radar image (ORI) is produced from our proprietary interferometric synthetic aperture radar (IFSAR)
sensors and provides an image in regions where there is persistent cloud cover. The orthorectified radar image is a grayscale
radar image of the earth’s surface that has been corrected to remove geometric distortions caused by terrain.
This orthorectified radar image accentuates topographic features such as rivers, road networks, and vegetation boundaries.
Many geospatial applications can be supported by our orthorectified radar image, including topographic and geological mapping,
land coverage classification, and forestry analyses.
